World Missions

In his final commission, Jesus instructed us to “make disciples of all nations.” (Mat 28:19) For 2000 years generation after generation of Christians have heeded this call. Beginning with the apostle Paul, they have gone to places that are distant, dangerous and unfamiliar. They have gladly accepted the mission to take the love of God to a lost and dying world because they believed the word’s of Christ that “I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6) The rest of the world must hear the name of Jesus.

While local evangelism is important, and building up less established areas is also important, this is where vast majority of Christian mission activity already takes place, and we cannot stop there. Completing the task of reaching the world for God means that we must be willing to go where others are not willing to go. This is how the apostle Paul started the church among the nations, and this is how the mission will be completed. Freedom Christian Fellowship is taking action to participate in the global mission of God to the unreached parts of the earth.

Nepal Mission
In order to help us launch our ministry to these peoples, we have engaged David Philips, a seasoned missionary with experience going to the remotest regions of the earth with the Gospel. With his guidance, we have selected Nepal as a country with many unreached groups where we can start work immediately with a relatively low barrier of entry.

David, and one of our elders, Joel Sweeney, will started in Kathmandu and trekked into the remote regions of Nepal, including the ultra-remote Mustang Valley, a small Buddhist kingdom which has only been open to the outside world since 1991, and only accessible by pack.  The team took with them audio Proclaimer Bibles which allow people even in remote regions to hear the Bible in their own language.

The total expenses for this trip ran around $9000. This number included a week of hardcore mission training in Oklahoma, Airfare, trekking fees, supplies and general ground expenses. Because we believe the reaching the unreached is so fundamental to the mission of the church, we are funded this mission in a different way than most missions are funded. Rather than have missionaries raise all of the money directly, the church is putting forward $5000 from our regular budget. We then ask each of the missionaries to contribute $400, and bring an additional $600 in personally raised support. This leaves a gap of $2000 that we are collecting in offerings and asking other Christians to help out. This method means that by everyone sacrificing and participating a little bit, something great can be accomplished.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make this mission a reality.   There were some surplus funds which are being kept in our special mission account for future trips.   Please contact us at if you would like to know more or participate in our mission outreach.
