Who We Are

Freedom Christian Fellowship is a Spirit-filled church plant in Cincinnati.  We meet every Sunday night at 7:30 PM in Monfort Heights.

How do I know if this is my church?
Freedom Christian Fellowship majors on helping people.   We are a place where everyone who wants to gets free, and where everyone is part of the team.  If you have hit rock bottom and need help, we will work with you.   If you are a Christian who has struggled to get Christianity to work for you, we will help you.   If you have a passion to put the word of Christ in practice, we will open the door for you.    Our mission is to advance the Kingdom of God by bringing people freedom from every kind of limitation.

  • Personal– Addictions, economic bondage, fear, psychological struggles. Liberation comes through pastoral care, repentance, and the power of God.
  • Relational– Abuse, manipulation, control, judgment, unforgiveness. Freedom comes through healthy relationships and courageous action.
  • Ideological– False belief systems which are broken through the truth of God.
  • Physical– Illness and physical limitations which are broken through the power of divine healing.

Real Encounter with God
We are committed to  bringing people into encounters with the living God.   This means going out to reach those who have never met him, helping Christians who struggle walk in His presence, bringing divine healing to those who suffer, and going into the deeper realms of God as a corporate body.    We emphasize the love of God, combined with the transforming power of repentance from sin.  Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit each believer can have an intimate and tangible relationship with God, and we want to help you walk in it.   We want to motivate, stir hunger, and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to deep needs. In a lost and dying world, we need to be a people of truth, worship, and power.

No One Left Behind
Throughout His ministry Jesus focused on feeding and meeting the needs of those who were hungry. Jesus final charge to Peter was “If you love me, feed my sheep.” We believe our focus should be on feeding those that are hungry for God. Our heart is to build an environment where people are eager to come because they know they will receive help. Jesus says that God leaves the ninety-nine in the open country to pursue the one that is lost. We see every person who is walking below their potential in God as valuable and worthy of ministry. We actively pursue those who others have wounded or discarded, or who are just “stuck.”

We are committed to fostering life-giving systems where every individual is valued, pastored through areas of personal difficulty, and brought to a place of powerful service in God’s Kingdom. We believe in constructing pathways to get people from where they are to where God wants them to be, to fulfill their dreams of serving God. We want to open doors that will free people from beliefs, systems and situations which the enemy has used to limit their potential.   This means a leadership style that is based on empowerment to action and cultivating personal passion.  Secondly,  it means creating clear pathways from where people are to where they want to be.  Finally it means that all are invited, regardless of background to “jump in” to the work with us.

Team Ministry
The default model for churches today is to build around the gifts and talents of a single individual.   We believe that every Christian is supposed to be engaged in the Work of God and  FCF has been designed from the beginning to  promote this.   First we have a team of real elders that is committed to hearing from one another instead of a single strong leader.    We share the key responsibilities such as preaching at the weekly meeting because we want everyone’s gifts to be engaged.   Secondly, although we recognize that some situations require paid staff,  this is not our default goal.   This promotes everyone having a share in the ministry and seeing themselves as a minister, and it frees up resources to help others.   Third, rather than trying to pigeonhole people into predefined roles in the church we help each person to find those ministries which engages their personality and passion.

We see real accountability coming from having a team of elders who are open and honest with each other as well as the body.  It is very important to us that we model ethical leadership.  We take a strong stand for honesty and transparency in leadership and finances especially. We see resources as capital which should be invested wisely to produce “maximal kingdom impact.” We believe that people who give should be told what happened to their money, so that they can celebrate with us the fruit which it bore.

Repairing the Ancient Walls
We live in a time of tremendous advance of the global church but here in the United States our culture and morality have gone into free fall.   At FCF, we embrace both the role of the church to bring the light of the Gospel to the world, and it’s role to renew and transform every culture it encounters, starting with our own.

In order to change culture, the church itself must be changed, however.  We want to take our stand for the renewal of the foundations and passion of the church, and influence other sin the same direction.   We must not walk away from Luther’s assertion that the “just shall live by faith”,  the Reformation primacy of the Word of God,  John Wesley’s insistence on the responsibility of man, believers Baptism, or the Pentecostal experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.   We will not compromise the truth for a trend, we will not compromise the Holy Spirit for respectability, and we will not hype up a person, doctrine, or experience to distract from God Himself.
